University of Phoenix Doctoral Information
The University of Phoenix is North America’s largest private university. With more than 200 campuses worldwide and scores of online degree programs, the school serves more than 500,000 undergraduate and graduate students every year.
Online Learning
Online programs at the University of Phoenix are almost as old as the Internet itself; the school launched its first online courses in 1989. Online doctoral programs are now offered in business administration and management, education, industrial/organizational psychology, health care administration, and nursing. Distance learners may also take some courses on campus if desired, but they always have online access to the university’s digital library, writing assistance, and tutorials in math and statistics.
Accreditation
The University of Phoenix is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission; it’s a member of the North Central Association. In addition, its business programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). However, they are not accredited by the more prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
